After completing a year as test driver for the ING Renault F1 Team in 2007, he graduated to a race seat for 2008 alongside Fernando Alonso where his performances, including a second place podium finish in the German Grand Prix, helped the team secure fourth position in the constructors’ championship. He continues with the team for the 2009 season.
